Sustainable development

Arbizu Eco-camping has based its construction on concepts of sustainability, bioconstruction, bioclimatism and application of renewable energy, focused on offering a sustainable tourism option that is respectful of the incomparable natural setting in which it is located. The services and common use buildings of the campsite have been built with a wooden structure and the walls are closed with straw bales, a natural and close material, economical, easy to use and that provides a high level of insulation. The lime plaster of the straw is the key to ensuring that the walls are perfectly sealed, isolated from external agents that could damage the interior straw. The warmth that these spaces transmit is noticeable, as well as the low energy consumption that their maintenance entails. The bungalows intended for accommodation are small bioclimatic homes, built with a wooden “sandwich” structure that integrates natural and recycled insulating materials (sheep wool or cotton from recycled jeans as examples).Inspired by eco-villages and the values of eco-technology, eco-energy, eco-consumption and corporate social responsibility, it also has training and educational objectives through the organization of various courses and workshops. The philosophy of Arbizu eco-camping is that visitors enjoy and fully integrate into nature while being respectful of the environment. The high natural and landscape value of the area means that the eco-camping is committed to the environment and takes concrete measures for the preservation of natural values and resources in the construction and operation phase, contributing at the same time to promoting the comprehensive and sustainable development of Sakana.
